Spending time outdoors is a big part of life at 1st Friends Nursery. We are fortunate to have both a secure playground and easy access to local Canvey Island parks and outdoor areas where children can explore nature and engage in physical activities.
Garden activities at the nursery are often free-flow, allowing children to explore both indoors and outdoors. Popular garden activities include:

Nature Walks
A key part of our routine is our nature walks, where we explore local Canvey Island areas such as Canvey Lake, Concord Beach, and Canvey Seafront. These walks provide children with the opportunity to connect with nature and the local environment. Depending on the weather and children’s interests, walks might include:
Bug Hunts and Botany explorations.
A visit to Canvey Lake.
Seafront Exploration: Searching for sea shells, observing the tides, and playing in the sand at Canvey Seafront.
Games and picnics at Concord Beach or a nature trail through the local areas.
