Our Facilities
-
1st Friends Nursery is ideally located in the Town Centre of Canvey Island, making it perfect for families from the Knightswick Centre, Furtherwick Road, High Street, St Michael's Road, The Village, Jones Corner, Long Road, and nearby areas.
-
We have created a bright, spacious, and welcoming environment that is divided into two distinct areas based on the age of the children. This allows us to provide the best possible learning experiences, age-appropriate activities, and facilities for every child’s stage of development. Both of our areas are large, open spaces, ensuring the children have room to explore and play freely.
-
Our playground and indoor areas are designed to offer a variety of learning zones, and we regularly update the activities to reflect the seasons, current events, and the children’s interests. This flexibility ensures that each child’s day is filled with fresh and engaging experiences.
Why we are Unique
-
What sets 1st Friends Nursery apart is our commitment to creating an environment where every child can thrive at their own pace, whether they're in Little Buddies or Exploring Friends. We recognise that each child is unique and ensure they receive individual attention and support. For example, when it’s time for children to transition from Little Buddies to Exploring Friends, we do it gradually, so children feel confident and comfortable. Some children even enjoy mixing with the older or younger age groups during activities like reading or playing together.
-
We also embrace the Reggio Emilia approach across both areas, which values the child as an active participant in their learning. This means we offer a wide range of hands-on activities and encourage children to explore and enjoy new challenges in a supportive environment.
-
Whether your child is taking their first steps in Little Buddies or preparing for school in Exploring Friends, our nursery offers a space where they can grow, discover, and become confident learners.
